Open Question: Does forum admins have my static ip address?

Well, I am banned from some website forums but they permanently banned me. I don't want to explain what happened but I have changed and I need to go back to the forums. They have ip banned me but I don't know which IP they had banned me though. I don't know if they have my static ip address (or external ip addressS) or my internal ip address which is generated by router. But since majority of ppl who use router share the internal ip address I assume they have my Static ip address. Should I call ISP then? and is there a chance they would change my static ip?? And once it is changed, can I re-register on the forums where I am banned since they wouldnt recognize me???

Open Question: Are routers able to edit packet details?

I read that in a computer network if there is congestion a way to help resolve the problem is by feedback: The router marks field in packet from sender to receiver. (receiver then notifies sender) Are routers able to do this easily? I thought they are only supposed to direct traffic and not change packet content!

Open Question: Connecting a computer (Windows XP) to two network..?

Hi,

We have two broadband connection in our office.

Connection1: This is the primary connection, and the local hosting server is connected in this network. So we use this connection for the internet and for development work.

Connection2: This is a stand-by connection in case connection1 internet is down.

Problem: When connection1 is down, we will not be able to connect to the internet, but have access to the local hosting server. To access internet we have to switch to connection2. This is a lot of work.

Is there a way to access 2 networks at the same time.

Hardware: Both the connections are connected through a router. Hence changing the system IP and DNS settings will take it to the right network../

Can anyone suggest what can be done in this case. Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Hari Prasad S
