I have a Windows Vista Basic 32bit laptop. Recently, There.com closed and I want to play Second Life now, but I crash every time I log in! I don't want to move to another game as my friends are playing on Second Life, too! I know Second Life has been known to not usually work on Windows Vista, but there must be some way by now! They were suppost to fix the Windows Vista problem in 2007, it's now 2010! Can you tell me what I need to do in order for me to be able to play it? Is there a cheap and easy way to get Second Life to work for me? I've been told you can't get graphics cards on laptops, so what am I suppost to do?! I'm just a teen, so I won't be able to get something too expensive! My laptop: Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 540 @ 1.86GHz, ~1.9GHz Memory: 764MB RAM Page File: 1108MB used, 682MB available Can you please help? It's getting really difficult! From what I understand the only difference is the amount of memory you get with a standard netbook is much less than that of a laptop. If that's the case couldn't you just add more memory to the netbook by replacing your hard-drive or adding more RAM? I also understand that a netbook is inferior to a laptop when it comes to watching videos or gaming. I mainly use my computer to browse the web, check email and write. Do netbooks come with office software? I apologize ahead of time I'm not that computer savy. Thanks.

I'm having a problem with USB devices on my PC, basically when I plug in my memory stick the PC does not do anything, I don't think the PC recognises the device and nothing happens. I have tried all the sockets and there're all the same. Has something happened to my PC. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks John

i currently have a sony and it has lasted me 2 1/2 years and i love it to bits. i need a fast and high memory laptop i would like some thing other than a gateway or acer. i also need it to be relatively small and light. it would also be good if it was durable, i take my laptop to school so you can just think of the strain it would be in. cost is actually in the question so i would like it to be $700. please help me.

im having a problem with installing my nvidia gt 240 video card i had a 8300 gs card installed already i removed that one then put in the gt 240 then turned on my pc and windows started to install the drivers when they were done it ask me to restart my pc so i did but now windows wont start im using vista 32 bit i don't know what could be the problem i tried to install the drivers from the provided disc also from nvidia website and still the same thing i have a dell inspriron 530 with core 2 duo 2.6 processor 3 gbs of memory 500 gb hard drive 500 watt power supply i don't know what else to do please help and windows will start in safe mode

I copied my files from my od Dell desktop onto my new laptop- and was going to give the desktop to the local high school (to their computer class, where they can take it apart) I just want to totally erase ALL memory on my old computer, and there are still some old tax files there- are there any keys I can hit that will erase every single file, or do I have to erase them all one by one? Ok so I have this HP dv6 Laptop back from Dec. 2009. I have 4 USB memory sticks, 1 mouse USB and 1 cooling pad USB. Does having all these USBs connected effect the laptop running under ac power and the battery not attached? And does it shorten the life of the laptop at all? If it helps, my CPU is a duel core clocked at 2.2GHz and I have 8gb's of ram.

When I run railworks, the sound is often missing, and none of the keyboard controls do anything, the train just sits there doing nothing in mute. I have reinstalled, and it works at first, then goes wrong again after a few launches. I just relaunched it, and everything worked except the sound. Sometimes when I exit the application I get a "The memory could not be "written"" error.
