Open Question: How do I get Second Life to run on my Windows Vista Basic 32bit laptop?

I have a Windows Vista Basic 32bit laptop. Recently, There.com closed and I want to play Second Life now, but I crash every time I log in! I don't want to move to another game as my friends are playing on Second Life, too! I know Second Life has been known to not usually work on Windows Vista, but there must be some way by now! They were suppost to fix the Windows Vista problem in 2007, it's now 2010! Can you tell me what I need to do in order for me to be able to play it? Is there a cheap and easy way to get Second Life to work for me? I've been told you can't get graphics cards on laptops, so what am I suppost to do?! I'm just a teen, so I won't be able to get something too expensive! My laptop: Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 540 @ 1.86GHz, ~1.9GHz Memory: 764MB RAM Page File: 1108MB used, 682MB available Can you please help? It's getting really difficult! I'd really appreciate the help! Thanks.

Open Question: How does this network work, and how would I discover the logins?

It is a wired network (no wireless) with more than a hundred windows desktop computers, and several hundred windows laptops connecting. There is a companion wireless network, but it is just for guests and students personal computers. Each "user" has a network drive that can store about 25 GB worth of data. These drives can be accessed from the wireless network too, via a samba share. The administrators can access any of the other drives as well as their own. The same user can log onto more than one computer at a time, but the local settings (desktop) do not change over the network. I am interested in how exactly this network works. Are all of the computers running off a central server? what makes the computers connect to a certain network drive? and how do the computers know the login information if a "netuser" command returned only the system defaults? Purely as an educational exercise, I am also interested in how one might go about finding the login details of other users. As far as I can tell, the passwords are not saved on each of the individual computers. Any help is greatly appreciated. I forgot to mention, I would also like to know if SSH-ing into the computers, both from inside the network and outside is possible. Thank you for your help

Open Question: What is a better Wireless Router unit to use over the Vonage wireless router device?

I just switched from Vonage to Ooma. I have a wireless modem from Clear Communication in my set up. I have two laptops and a desk top. The Vonage unit is not dependable. I have to constantly re-boot it. I need to find a dependable wireless router that will also allow me to plug my Ooma VoIP in it instead of the phone jack.

Open Question: which of these laptops are best suited for me?

Hi. I am a middle school student looking for a laptop. I only need it for an at-home usage for like facebook, mlia, online shopping, etc. and portability to like the library. These are the following laptops i am considering.
Sony VAIO E

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=8198552921644699998&N=4294953240#reviews

I like its glossy finish. And it has a number pad which is a great convenience.

Sony VAIO CW

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=8198552921644659494&N=4294954315

Again, glossy finish. its smaller. lighter weight. (so easier portability?)

any recommendations are welcome! but keep in mind it has to have a webcam, chicklet-style keyboard, white finish (all of it white, including the keys), great performance, lightweight and easy portability,
and dont recommend a mac because it is way out of my budget, :[
