I am preparing to reinstall Windows vista. But, the product key on the back of my laptop has faded.
I used Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder to decrypt the key in the windows registry. But, the key seems to be different from the one (the legible characters) on the sticker. It is probably the “generic product key”, which won’t work for the activation after re-installation.
I haven’t formatted my computer, as yet. So, I still have a running, activated and genuine version of Vista.
Now, how can I recover my product key?

I have a hp pavillion laptop about 2 1/2 years old. using vista home premium. I would like to return it to out of the box condition but what are my options? what is the diff between these two options? and also any help with tips while doing this please. thank you!I should add that I do know what the discs do but not sure about the partion. Will it delete programs added after factory? return it to factory settings with crapware or only the os???? The reason im doing this is just to have fresh start. something new. I havent had really any problems or anything.I did buy a recovery disc when i bought the comp from best buy. They made one for me.I thought a partion only restores short term, like before an update download and not to out of box factory condition. help

I have a genuine copy of Microsoft Office Small Business 2007. I'm trying to, legally, put it onto a second laptop but I can't because it's saying some files are corrupted or missing.
Any ideas how to get to an online version that I can then just add the valid product key to, or how to get a replacement disc?

I deleted boot.ini and other files from C: drive by mistake and when I restarted my laptop it says BOOTMGR missin, press ctrl+alt+del. Its a compaq presario c700 loaded with Vista. I have been trying to use an installation disk to repair the system but th computer just wont read the installtion CD. Please help, I have very important information that I need to retrieve urgently!
ALL the options including F8 and F9 are taking me to an inbuilt System Restore dialogue that attempts to restore factory settings.
Please help me...

Hi everyone i have a itouch and i know that you cant go online if you have no wifi. well my itouch wont let me go online and I do have it... its not giveing me a option period though like the when i go into settings the Wi-Fi icon is frozen and it says no wifi.. I have even tried going to a starbucks still nothing although I shouldnt have even tried that because i do have wifi at home that is what im using right now with my laptop??? so can anyone help me please?? and please dont say to restart my ipod completely ive tried that and still nothing.. It worked for a while when i had just got it and now it stopped?? PLEASE HELP! thanks

I did it before, I have the Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator.So anyway click on it and I connect the S cord to the T.V. I click on the Graphics properties tab it should bring up either the Note book or Television option.Well anyway it did before and I was able to watch movies from my laptop to my T.V. But NOW there is no Television tab??? Its like the damn thing never existed??? where'd it go???I tried system restore but still there is NO Television tab??? Any advice or support would be greatly appreciated! :)

Alright one day my friend was on my Facebook account on my laptop I forgot to logout of my account. He started talking randomly to my friends online(Facebook chat). I found out later that he was talking to several of my friends online. Now he didn't say anything bad none that i know of. But, I have sent messages to all my friends that he has talked to explaining to them that it wasn't me who they were talking to it was my friend. But so far none of my friends had sent me a message back saying ok i gotcha or anyhing like that. What should I do? Like how do I explain to them that it wasn't me? I have been in these situations where I explained that I wasn't the guy u were talking to but not this huge before. Please Help!

How come whenever i'm typing something in a forum, if the the text goes below a certain point the scroll bar automatically jumps up and keeps jumping up after every letter I type? It seems like this only happens on my laptop, because it doesn't do it on my desktop or my brother's laptop. Any idea what's going on?
