I bought an ati radeon HD 3870 sapphire edition graphics card for a mac pro and it doesn't work. I installed it properly in the proper port and my monitor won't turn on even when I connect it. I had to re install my 7300 gt to try to install the drivers but I can't find those either. Any help is appreciated.

I have a this monitor :
http://www.frys.com/product/6160119?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
It IS DVI supportive but not HDMI. Does anyone know if the Radeon HD 4870 Videocard requires a dvi or hdmi supportive monitor or will vga do just fine? Because I konw that it comes with only ONE adapter from VGA to DVI so that i can connect to my monitor the videocard rather than the pc vga input. I know my monitor supports dvi but i am currently using a vga to vga cable. Will it work if i just connect the vga cable to the vga-to-dvi adapter into the graphics card? Or do I need to go and buy a dvi cable? And are there setting i need to change in order to do this? because my monitor turns black when loading windows with my new videocard. PLZ HELP!!! : /

I know this is weird but every time something is downloading and there's the blinking 2 computers icon in the taskbar, my CRT monitor shows a bunch of quick flashing lines. At other times when nothing is downloading, the display is okay. Is this a graphics card problem? Or monitor problem? I had an LCD but there was something wrong with it so I'm getting it replaced but for the time being, I'm using this CRT.
